Crêpes Ooh La La in Walnut Creek, CA, is a charming creperie and breakfast spot that artfully blends French-inspired flavors with California freshness. This cozy eatery specializes in creating delicate, melt-in-your-mouth crêpes that cater to both savory and sweet cravings, making it a perfect place to start your day or enjoy a light meal.
The menu offers a delightful selection that ranges from savory favorites like the house special #2—an enticing blend of spinach, onions, tomatoes, and herbed feta—to dessert crepes that satisfy your sweet tooth without overwhelming the palate. Vegetarians will especially appreciate options featuring fresh sundried tomatoes and sautéed spinach, which customers like James Huang found to be flavorful, fresh, and comforting. Alongside these, their thoughtfully curated beverage list includes robust small and medium house coffees priced reasonably, as well as a variety of aromatic teas such as Chai Spice Black Tea and Moroccan Mint Green Tea, offering a warm, soothing accompaniment to any meal.
Guests often note the quality and taste of the crêpes, describing them as excellent and reasonably priced, with fresh, vibrant ingredients that highlight an attention to detail. The complementary fruit bowl—a colorful medley of strawberries, bananas, apples, kiwis, raspberries, and blueberries—is a welcomed touch, especially for families with children, as mentioned warmly by a customer who had their little one served a free fruit platter.
While the dining space is intimate and packed with tables despite its small size, some find the interior less inspiring, though this is easily overshadowed by the food’s appeal. The atmosphere leans toward casual and relaxed, ideal for those looking for a low-key breakfast experience. Service is friendly, with attentive staff making visitors feel welcome even during the quiet early hours of the day.
However, a few aspects might warrant attention—for instance, the restroom facilities are somewhat dated, as noted in reviews, and there can be occasional wait times even when the place isn’t crowded. Also, the use of the same batter for both sweet and savory crêpes results in a slightly sweeter profile than some may prefer for savory items.
Overall, Crêpes Ooh La La is a delightful culinary gem for anyone craving authentic, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared crêpes in a charming neighborhood location. Whether you’re after a quick light bite or a leisurely breakfast accompanied by a cup of excellent coffee or fragrant tea, this creperie’s flavors and warm hospitality offer a satisfying and memorable start to your day.
I am not a big fan of the interior of this place, but the crepes are tasty!
Got a vegetarian savory crepe, dessert crepe, and coffee for under $20. Flavors were fresh and pleasant, sun-dried tomatoes and sauteed spinach were delicious. Waitress was pretty nice. We were the only ones there at 8am on a Thursday
Excellent crêpes! Reasonable price. Nice staff. Although small, it had a lot of tables. We went in first in the morning, so, I can't comment on wait time at their busy times. Our food arrived pretty fast. And, they even served our kiddo a complementary fruit platter. The restroom was awefully worn out. But, I couldn't convince myself to drop a star. Make sure use restroom elsewhere if you can!
Stopped in looking for a quick and light meal. Got the house special #2 which features spinach, onions, tomatoes, and herbed feta. However that cheese had none of the saltiness or tang of feta. It also took a long time to get to me even though there were almost no other customers. Finally, they must use the same batter for their sweet crepes as it was a bit too sweet for me. However sitting outside enjoying the breeze was great.
